history meets innovation

Where history meets innovation: nestled in a 100-year old authentic Aruban cunucu, NATU is 100% off-grid and powered by sunshine.

Our intimate camp is nestled in a cunucu with a history spanning more than 115 years. Once used to cultivate fruit trees like mango, this land still holds traces of its past — two original water wells and a sophisticated irrigation system, remarkable for its time, can still be seen today. However, over time, many of the fruit trees, gave in to age and plagues, leaving the land in a state of decline.

NATU is already changing this: one of our first regenerative projects, “Ban Planta” ("Let’s Plant"), brought our vision to life. Surrounded by family and friends, we planted our first tamarind and mango trees beside two old mispel trees — right next to Isla. We are excited to see this cunucu filled with shade and fruit again one day!

Our camp is Sustainable by Design. A few examples: our state-of-the-art, bespoke luxury tents are fully solar-powered. We implement water conservation measures, reuse materials from the historic cunucu, and choose durable materials alongside minimal-impact pathways.
